And so it begins: many of you will recall that about a year and a half ago now, a young man fell to his death in the Webb Building on Pearl Street in downtown Buffalo. The young man was part of a construction crew making renovations to the building, which was being turned into loft apartments.
This past winter, my niece, her partner, and their two children moved back to Buffalo from Baltimore and opted to take a loft on the 5th Floor of the Webb Building. The apartments are really nice and she and her man are accustomed to, and thoroughly enjoy, city life. I never mentioned the accident that occurred during the construction of the place--wasn't my idea of a nice "housewarming" gift, so I purposely never mentioned it, but apparently someone did because she's already hearing stories about the "ghost" in the building. At this point, the former construction worker is purported to be fixated on the elevator which he apparently will not allow to run if he's not in the mood for it. At this point, I'm of a mind to believe that the elevator company is more to blame for the lift's bad behavior, but knowing of the tragedy that occurred there, I wouldn't rule out a haunting, so it will be interesting to see how the story develops and whether the "ghost" will become more active in years to come!
