One of the greatest benefits you can receive from a crystal is a deep sense of peace & relaxation. If you feel "out of sorts," a crystal will gently bring you back into balance. If you feel uptight, it will unwind you. If you need to be calmer, a crystal quiets the body, mind, & emotions. Placing appropriate crystals on chakras releases energy held there, helping you to be more relaxed.
Relaxing crystals can be chosen by qualities or colors. Pink & green crystals are particularly calming but some of the violet stones elevate consciousness, raising up out of tension into peace, while some of the yellow stones bring peace of mind.

Rose Quartz calms & opens the heart, a Smoky Quartz with its point toward the earth draws off stress & negative energy from the base of the spine, while a Clear Quartz on or above you crown draws in healing energies. Chrysoprase: The color of green apples, it radiates peace & calmness. Its ability to bring greater insights & to aid you in opening to new situations & surroundings helps you to remain relaxed at times of change.
Blue Jade: Particularly useful for people who feel their situation is beyond their control. It brings patience & an inner serenity, ensuring slow but steady progress.
Kunzite: With its delicate striations, Kunzite lifts the spirits. It's another of the stones that radiate peace. Place it on the heart chakra for maximum effects.
Rhodonite: The elegant, softly pink is a particularly useful stone for remaining calm & centered in the middle of trauma or crisis.
Herkimer Diamond: Crystal-clear, draws off environmental stress. If you feel particularly stressed out, with your nerve jangling & an inability to sleep, a few of these crystals around your bed will create a safe, calm space in which to rest.
